Nebula
A nebula is a cloud of interstellar gas and dust, sometimes spanning tens or hundreds of light-years. The term comes from the Latin nebula, which means “cloud.” Nebulae play a central role in the cycle of galactic matter: they are both the birthplaces of stars and the remnants of dead stars.
The Different Types of Nebulae
